The "Moto Brew Story"

The Moto Brew story is result of the rare magic that happens when good friends come together over a cool idea... It all began in the fall of 2003, when my buddy, Rick Doughty of Vintage Iron and I were preparing for a Primm MX Collection open house. During the course of working out all the details the topic of beverages arose. Adult beverages to be more specific, which in turn led to one of our favorite topics. Beer! Beer and bench racing go hand in glove and no motocross oriented party would be complete without it. The mind numbing array of choices on the market always caused a dilemma about what beer to buy and that is when it hit me. We should have our own private label beer that exudes the spirit of motocross but tastes better than roost off a 450's rear wheel. Rick chuckled at the notion and then asked me what I would call such a beer. Without a moments hesitation, I blurted out "Why Moto Brew of course!"
I could see the look on Rick's face change from mildly amused to curiously interested (beer can do that to a person). He then reminded me that one of my oldest friends from high school owns micro-brewery in Fresno California. So the call was made to Scott Kendall of Sequoia Brewing Company, who was as usual immediately receptive to the idea. After that we were off to the races in building America's newest brand of beer.
Over the next 30 days Scott had conducted market research and taste testings that all went surprisingly well. Moto Brew was becoming a sensation it's own right, over night. Knowing the brewing biz like he does, Scott instinctively knew we had something special and convinced me that we need to go big with Moto Brew but first we need a snazzy looking label and packaging that captured the essence of the beer. In steps another long time friend to the Moto Brew story in the form of Troy Lee of Troy Lee Designs. Troy is one of the best artist in the business and just so happens to be a real fan of beer. He was more than up for the challenge and in a short period of time we had what is arguably the coolest label/logo ever to grace a beer bottle.
So what started off as a cool idea and a hand full of good friends has turned into nationally recognized, great tasting beer that is currently available in Nevada, California and Texas. If you are unfortunate enough not to live in one of these states, start calling your local retailer and asking (no make that begging) for them to start to carry Moto Brew. Your taste buds will be glad you did.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
